What are the things in life that you're truly passionate about?

Learning languages has always been a great passion of mine. In addition the very obvious English that I speak, I also speak fluent Spanish, high-school level German, Japanese (gotta love 日本語がっこう), and I understand French, Italian, and Latin fairly reasonably due to my knowledge of Spanish. The Romance languages are all based on Latin and so similar that it isn't too hard to pick up the meanings of words.

I am also extremely fond of reading for pleasure.

Just last night I completed Tipping the Velvet by Sarah Waters. My friend Jackie encouraged me to read it, although it isn't too great a literary masterpiece, in my opinion. It was entertaining alright! Lesbian lovers. Mashers. Theatres. Singing. Dancing. Affairs. Yes, that kind of a novel.

I began King Lear by Shakespeare, on Tuesday, and A Thousand Acres by Jane Smiley, yesterday. They are both mandatory reads for AP English, but they are so very good that it doesn't matter. I always have trouble reading for school, but not this time around. :)
